About

‘Sane&Fable aims to highlight the importance of mental health (sane), whilst also celebrating stories (fables) and faces through personal artwork. This acknowledges the need for both individuality and human connection in helping people their own personal journeys’

Sane&Fable started off as a clothing brand in 2020. It has since shifted into my own personal platform, using clothing as a foundation to explore print design and to connect with people through creative practices. Whilst the brand is still its own unique project, this space is also an umbrella for my own industry and personal work.

‘Talon Sports (Sialkot, Pakistan) is a large-scale producer employing around 1200 factory workers and contract stitchers. Production is split 50/50 between sports clothing and sports balls – mainly footballs…it is currently the only supplier of sports balls to the UK Fair-trade market.’ Find out more about the working conditions and their corporate philosophy at www.talonsports.com.

The cotton we have used for our collection is companion-planted and cultivated by cooperatives in Pakistan. A mill separates out the cotton fibres, which are then woven into yarn at a spinning mill, then knitted or woven in the Talon Sports Factory into fabric before further processing at a dye works or printing operation. All of these production steps have to comply with the principles and high standards of the working conditions in the factory.
